not bad…not bad at all
i was looking forward to watch a movie on cny day 2 simply because i had nothing else to do. And it was a toss up between bride wars or the wedding game. The answer is obvious, no? Haha. Well, actually, i didnt mind watching either, not because both were about weddings, but simply because i was curious about how fann wong looked in the film with all the outfit changes and in bride wars case, the vera wang gown that kate hudson wore. Besides, though movies receive pretty decent reviews so why not yea. I finally caught bride wars yesterday and i liked it! Scored high marks for the feel-good factor and it also got me thinking about how my future wedding would be like. lols. Nevertheless, i seriously think tiffany rings are kinda overrated. Of course it had to be featured in the movie to score brownie points for advertising and its like the ultimate/most sought-after ring for any girl? Truueee to a certain extent, but i think its beginning to be overrated. Lately, i found that other brands such as Cartier, Chopard also carry some nice stuff so worthwhile considering also.
Wisdom from Dr Seuss
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matterand those who matter don’t mind.”
Pretty clever for children’s literature, eh? And the cartoon which was screened last year aint that bad either
so empty
was getting all revved up to party on sun night. finally. nite at butter. And then.zzfffftttt. dammit. it was closed. this defies reason! eve of public holidays. clubs should be open and should be happening and crowded. anyway, since we were already out, we swung by phuture and while it was open. it was reallly not crowded. though i saw a a familiar faces at the winebar like tony tay taking his well-deserved break and the dude from parking lot pimps/urban xchange, terrance something. still we made the night work for us. well, it always work if you are lil tipsy, haha so we ordered drinks and basically just chilled. The music was quite good though ive not heard of dj raw. not the resident anyway. The night, however ended on a high note as i had prata and maggie mee goreng at the prata cafe down at ethans road. i was craving for food cos i didnt had much during dinner and then with the liquor in the stomach, i needed food to counter the weirdness. nice place and it wasnt crowded and the food came pretty quick. nice! though one of our orders – milo peng came really late. AFTER all the food has been served and eaten. great. and the irony is milo dinosaur was served 1st. so how complicated can milo peng be right.

too much
u know how animal/leopard print is in vogue and all? well, i kinda dig that too, though u know its been overdone when you have a leopard print bag, leopard print cap and also leopard print tights under denim shorts, mind you. Pity about the faux pas because the girl i saw with the above 3 items in the train last week, was tall, slim and leggy. oh well!
mambo tunes
im digging mambo songs (Selective tunes) again and i realised my all time favourites are:
1. Bananarama: Love in the 1st Degree
2. Bananarama: I want you back.
Shit man, cheesy or what. BANANARAMA! woah. hah
my new buy
its cny afterall and of course people are tempted to shop since we typically need an outfit for each day of visitation and all. its really a lame excuse to do some shopping period and for me, i dun specially buy stuff bcoz its cny but like i suppose a little shopping doesnt hurt plus! its always nice to have something new in the closet. lol. But on a more serious note, i seriously have to reevaluate my shopping choices now cos i do have quite a lot of stuff stashed in my wardrobes and i dont think i have actually worn all the stuff i bought. And that goes for shoes as well. Time for some spring cleaning! Oh and how apt, i do need to springclean because of cny anyway.
Anyhow, i bought something recently and its a tube dress and i do like 2 things on the dress. Lightning bolts and Zippers/pockets. Its funny that i had my usual lightning bling necklace on when i bought this dress and the salesperson was like, oh you like thunder huh? erm, thunder…oh ok. great. But she was nice so i let that comment slide.
On a more sickening note, i cant wait for my skin to revert to its normal state. its peeling and dry. shucks man. thats why i dont like when i travel cos it take s a while for my skin to adapt to the local conditions. URGH!

shopping
just returned from philippines last nite and this time it had been very fruitful cos all the planned meetings took place and i managed to squeeze in some shopping time after business hours. i bought krispy kreme donuts, ready to eat popcorn, alcohol wipes/sterilizer (so useful in cleaning work desks), 7D dried mangoes. My colleague bought more stuff than me but i didnt have enough pesos with me so probably another time then. I also bought a topshop black tube short dress which is on 50% and that works out to be less than S$40! that is really a good buy and speaking of topshop, im reminded of a pair of jeans i spotted. i wanna get a pair of acid wash jeans! skinny type. shit. i dun wear much jeans these days but sigh, they look so good! i saw it on one of the magazines, not sure if topshop here stocks it. and i really like buying the rayban wayfarers in a groovy shade, either white, purple, red or tortoise shell. Super nice and oh so complementary for most face shapes! *swoon*
pppppfff
today had been particularly windy. and i do like the breeze, especially when i had my hair tied back, otherwise i would suffer from the “whiplash” effect (i.e when the wind blows and your hair slaps you across the face) i loathe whiplashes especially when i have my make up on and i have just applied my lipgloss and then the wind has to blow my hair into a disarray, dragging hair across my face, picking up my makeup and gloss with it. Dammit. No whiplashes for me today, thankfully but almost suffered faux pas cos the wind was pretty strong and that almost blew my dress up! Piangz, lucky i grabbed the ends of my dress in time, otherwise, like helllooo! in the middle of orchard road somemore. And my colleagues had to tease me by saying i was trying to pull a marilyn monroe stunt. puhhleeese, not deliberate you know. And this happened twice! when i was heading to my love’s house. gosh. thank god there werent so many people around.
my love is kinda feeling unwell, he has a blocked nose and sore throat. Just hope he gets well soon cos we are gonna celebrate his birthday!!!!
dress on friday
something rather interesting happened on friday. i was on my way to the mrt station when a woman grabbed my arm and asked, “hey, that;s a beautiful dress you’ve got! where did you buy it?”. im like, “ooh really, thanks! its from cotton on and i bought it like ages ago” and she went “ öh wow ok, its really nice..beautiful!!”
lol. i was completely caught off guard when the lady stopped me in my tracks.. still it was pretty nice for her to have said that, made me feel good for a while. its always nice to receive compliments from random strangers. hee. i remembered there were 3 other incidents when something similar happened. It all happened in the ladies toilet, 2 were about the colour of my nail polish and the girl went on to ask if i was air crew (cos i had the bloody red nails on 1 occasion) and then the 3rd one was about my skeleton scarf.
