confessions of a shopaholic

oh man! this was a fantastic show. i havent been watching any movies lately, almost a month in fact and was so looking forward to this one. what not to like. shoes, clothes, bags more shoes! haahah. isle fisher really hammed it up for this one. check out her dance moves in the tango/salsa crap, super hilarious. the show really feels like sex and the city all over again. not sure if its a good thing but i guess the soundtrack makes it seem really similar. and YSL. gorgeoussssss!! the latest bag feature on friday’s urban didnt help either. the mulberry clutch/sling bad is absolutely fab. damn!!

copycats and then some

lately everywhere i turn i see too many people dressed in to many similar styles. there is the electro nu-wave type ov nerd specs thats hitting the streets, the amy winehouse types and them some. i have seen a pair of friends in town with their hair pinned in the exact same manner (amy winehouse types) have the same shade of red nails and the same type of tights. i know its nice to have a really close pal but i think its equally important to have your own distinctive style and fashion sense, as honestly, everyone is supposed to be unique and should have their own identity and not just be a carbon copycat aint it? i can i imagine if you are in your teens and you have no style of own so you begin to dress like you favourite celebrity or whatever. i can completely attest to that because i was a fashion victim when i was 16 when there was a revival in vintage/retro clothes, i wore flare jeans and platform shoes. yes. platform shoes, they were black and had foam soles, but it gave me 2 inches more in height and i actually bought it from 77th street in far east plaza, 13 years ago. lols. that was before they were revamped to sell practically everything now – accessories, bags, shoes, they have everything.

im glad that as i got older, you start to create a loook thats distinctively you. and i especially like it when i go shopping and i spot something i like and when i hold it up, my companion (friends or whoever) would go, that is so you. Yes. when i hear that, i am absolutely comforted. after years of honing your fashion sense/taste/styles, you have reached that level that you can mix and match and create your own look. what i cant stand now is when people have  absolutely no styles of their own, they take shortcuts and they copy. copy wholesale somemore! and then the plan backfires cos they try too hard to be someone else, that they are not. its can be rather amusing too cos people know whos stylish and whos not and when they see you (the fashion victim/copycat), its just plain pathetic. just be yourself and find your own style, seriously! thats always an interesting process, just like how i did mine, almost like a self-discovery process. its far more liberating that way.

maxed out

past few weeks have been completely crazy with work and what not and at one point, i thought my brain is going to crack due to information overload and what made things worse was a throbbing headache on 1 specific day. dammit. sucks la. anyway, things got better, and i just went to sydney and back, flew on A380 so that was really nice. Sydney didnt disappoint too. Fantastic weather, around 17-20 degrees, blue skies, cool winds, everything was perfect! the only blemish was perhaps the weird pet-farm smell from the surrounding areas near the airport when i took the cab to the hotel. the cab fare was alsoexpensive man. AUD52.50?  good thing i travelled for business otherwise it would really burn a hole in the pockets.

back to the A380, i really liked extra room space and the fact that you get a flat bed, but for some reason, i also cant get to sleep on the flight, so the flat bed didnt quite matter. What i liked most was actually the washroom. where you can use a foot pedal to push the flap down (when you had to dispose your tissues) rather than having to use your hands to push the tissue down, After you have already cleaned them. I also like the automatic tap which is really sensitive (unlike the taps at centrepoint, what a pain in the ass!!) so water flows out easily and you can also adjust the temperature of the water. nice. another thing is the moisturizer (well yea ,ok, so business class really is better) because they stock those from L’oocitane which i liked cos it smelled nice and felt good on the skin. I think its the 24hr hydrating

 one. very cool.

P.S the pics should be rotated one time, clockwise. but its kinda f**ked now and i dont want to spend too much time converting them.

shows

my super ex girlfriend starring uma thurman is crap man. directed by ivan reitman, sounds familiar. but cant recall what other shows he did. uma thurman looks fab. but what a stupid show.

i caught doubt and revloutionary road on dvd. doubt is probably better ithink.

i wana finish watching The Reader. Kate winslet is woah. woah. her ahem breasts. woah.

katy perry on world stage is showing on mtv now. i think her butt looks kinda weird. and her thighs are kinda big. but her 1st album rocks! most of the songs are pretty good. THANKS NICOLE RICHIE!!! hahahaha

man pees outside of zouk

the post title says it all. of all the times ive been clubbing. this one takes the cake. we were making our way out of zouk for  home last night and that time, the usual scene is expected – girls, boys passed out, drunk and friends holding onto them for fear of bumping onto others. for those who are already lying flat on the ground on their own puke, friends just sits next to them basically waiting for to gain consciousness. Last night was special. i saw this guy holding his friend up from his back, guess he wasnt able to walk since he was already pretty wasted. AND THEN, i realised there was this stream of fluid emerging from his pants. so as we walked closer, lo and behold. his c**k was just sticking out and he was taking a piss, in the open, at the roadside. Best of all, the zouk traffic/security guy was standing there, totally amused by the sight. i dont really blame him, that poor chap is not causing any bodily harm to anyone and i guess he just couldnt hold his pee in and really wanted to take a piss. lols. whata amazed me was his friend couldnt even drag him to the side to least protect his modesty. and the guy was peeing really long, for a good 3mins or something while we gawked at him from the side.
