We already know Adam Lambert can rock eyeliner like the late Freddie Mercury, but can he front Freddie’s band? The guys from Queen aren’t ruling it out after their performance on the “American Idol” finale.

In a Rolling Stone interview, Queen’s lead guitaristBrian May said, “It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”

He’s talking about Adam’s voice.

excitement and then disappointment

i was in manila a couple of days back and i was rather concerned that i would miss the muchly anticipated americian idol finale. i recalled that the hotel we last stayed in had starworld as well, so with a bit of luck, i could tune in the repeat telecast when i was there. and so with little expectations, i stayed up to see if the show was on. i did my background checks and if it were to be showing then it should come on around 0030, quite late and i was concerned too cos the next day ive gotta wake up pretty early blah blah. anyway, i was just checking my mails and then suddenly the trailer came on, american idol up next. and it was 2250. hooray! so i can get to watch american idol at an earlier timeslot and not having to sacrifice too much of my sleep. i was rooting for adam lambert as most people had already known. i have nothing against kris allen per se (still prefer him over danny gokey) but i seriously think he lacks the star appeal so to me, crowning adam would have the natural choice. watched him perform over the finale and well based on simon cowell’s commentary (i couldnt agree more), it was a sure win. and so i went to bed feeling satisfied with the performance and eagerly anticipated the next day results. could it be showing at 8am, i wonder? anyway, there’s the repeat telecast again at night, sooo no problembo.

i woke up at 8am anyway, as my alarm went off and i switched on the television. lo and behold! american idol was showing and amidst taking a shower, getting dressed etc. i caught snippets of it. i didnt enjoy lil rooudnt (nvm lets just call her Lil R) performance but i was quite excited about black eye peas performing and then at the stroke of 9 i had to go i didnt stay til the results so we had to head off for a meeting.

at 11am or so, i searched for the american idol results. and the first search result came on. Kris Allen wins American Idol! somehow i got this weird naggy feeling that this would happen. and this always happens when i actually follow the show and root for the other person. urrrgghh.. it happened i think to singapore idol when it was the showdown between jonathan and hardy. and then hardy won. sighs. anyway, in adam lambert’s case im pretty sure he is gonna cut an album regardless. so well, i guess all is not lost. anyway, did you see simon cowell’s face when the results was announced? i thought he was shocked, dumbfounded, pretty disappointed i must say. the same look i had when i knew kris won. sighs.

zouk’s long island tea has gone up, it is $70 bucks per jug now. Gone were the days where it was 62, then 64 then 68 I think.

But the apricot brandy + 7up is really nice and easy to drink. Some may think it taste like the pink cough mixture, but too me, its just like sipping a soft drink. Dangerous! And the best part is, its great for the recession! 44 bucks per jug.

Also, another recession-proof product and I personally like this if you want to buy cheap and get high quick (apart from LIT), then its the always reliable – tequila shots! hee $10.50 per shot and if its one-for -one, best! you get 2 for the price of 1. I think places like butter sell 1 pair at 14 or something. expensive! And the tequila along with most of their alcohol i.e those you drink with mixers seem to taste kinda weird. like zouk uses Absolut for its vodka (thats premium), i think places like attica and butter use smirnoff and smirnoff doesnt taste good with certain mixers, like ribena and something else (redbull? cant recall)

anyway, i think a lot has changed in terms of zouk crowd, gone were the fashionable, trendy, media types. i believe there are pockets of them but i dont seem to see that much now. Have they all given up clubbing, got  older, wiser, married, settled down? i dont know, but i think im probably gonna be one of them soon, lols. Anyway, or have they all moved off to butter? for the all-new  clubbing experience with paintings from reowned artistes? was straits times right? zouk’s out and butter’s in? im  not quite sure but based on my night out yesterday at zouk, particularly phuture, im beginning to think so. Phuture’s was waay too crowded with too many people moving around and has no concept of personal space. i even had to ask this guy to get lost, please twice and he doesnt get it. he was trying to i dunno, dance, grind with me and my cousin, but please. i already said, get lost, do you not understand simple english and pls have some self-respect too.

phuture’s music was,,,well okay only, and butter is probably much better in that aspect. the space allocation per person is much better in butter too and worse case you can always skip to fash bar for a quick chill off – plus the music aint that bad. Heard the killers played the last time so all’s good.

anyway,  i think the next time round for zouk is probably for chill-out only, and probably a session of mambo in june, haha. Shall be heading to buutter in due time – UOB card-holders can get free entry by 11pm (till 31 May)?? ive been reading that but have never personally verified it. time to do so i guess.

american idol final 3

talk about being excited. this week gottta be the most exciting week. i dont know the format, but im sure one person is going home and it better, jolly, not be adam lambert. i dont want to jinx it and these things, y0u never know, cos i was hoping for kris to leave last week, but it turned out to be allison. the most nerdish thing also happened to me cos i actually teared when allison’s name was announced and her “going home, home sweet home” montage came up. who sang that song anyway? its kinda nice…

ooh wiiii

my love has been contemplating to buy wii for the longest time, since last year and since the last IT fair at suntec. he was tossing between buying an Iphone and Wii and i thought he has an existing phone which is working fine, so maybe wii probably would be better?

anyway, that was an excellent decision, because we were ended up playing quite a bit and it was fun too. The Raving Rabbits were cute, whats with synchronizing hand movements with the sounds/beats of songs, such as Toxi by Britney Spears and grooving to tracks – literally cos we were supposed to move the controls to the dance beats. hahaha. Next up, Guitar Hero and American Idol.

i cant believe my arm is aching from all playing these games! lols. turns out to be a good workout. especially the boxing wii sports one.

what to do when you are upset

what happens when you are upset about something, and yet you know there is no way you can change things. and because you cant change things, you are still upset and there is nothing you can do.

seeking for solutions may sound like the only logical thing to do but its easier said than done. thats how the phrase came out aint it?

i hate to be frustrated. it creates wrinkles, it gives me a headache.

shit. i want to do something that i can vent my anger with. maybe i should go butter and pour drinks on people; that could be a laugh. lols.

i need to beat someone up, i need to stab someone. or maybe i should just go shopping. but whats the point. i need a drink. a stiff drink. who knows whats gonna happen for my stomach scan tomorrow. wish me luck, so i can drink to my heart’s content.

i need to stay calm. need to find inner peace. thats how my tattoo came about. i want to get another.
